
Gold prices rose on Wednesday, nearing the record highs reached in the previous session. Meanwhile, silver hit an all-time high, surpassing $90 an ounce.
According to Bloomberg, spot gold rose 0.6 percent to $4615.85 an ounce. U.S. gold futures for February delivery climbed 0.5 percent to $4624.

As for other precious metals, silver rose in spot trading, surpassing $90 an ounce for the first time. Platinum climbed 3.5 percent to $2405.30, and palladium gained 1.8 percent to $1873.
Meanwhile, the four-day rally in oil prices came to an end today. Brent crude futures fell 9 cents, or 0.14 percent, to $65.38 a barrel.
U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell 12 cents, or 0.20 percent, to $61.03 a barrel.
