Jordan: Tomato exports to resume within a specified shipment limit

The Ministry of Agriculture decided on Monday to resume exporting tomatoes, after having stopped exporting them on March 27.

The ministry sent a letter to the Customs Department with its decision to resume tomato exports, provided that the number does not exceed 8 pallets per refrigerated transport vehicle (refrigerator).

The ministry had decided to suspend the export of the tomato crop to all destinations, starting from March 27, in order to provide the product in the local market at fair prices, and to limit the recent price increases, in order to achieve a balance between supply and demand and protect the consumer.
