Those who stayed in school for years have been giving us positions!

Dr. Nidal Al-Majali

There was this one guy whose story started in school, not university. Because, quite simply… university didn't catch up with him! He stayed in school for years, to the point that even the teachers were retiring, and he was still asking, “Is this subject included in the exam?” All the signs pointed to a long road ahead, perhaps even longer than necessary. But what wasn't taken into account was that this delay wasn't a setback… it was a “warm-up” before the launch.

Suddenly, and without anyone understanding how, he became a doctor, and his name kept coming up in meetings. Not as an academic this time, but as "Chairman of the Board." His first position came about by chance, or so they said. They said, "Let's give him a chance; maybe he'll succeed." And he did succeed... and succeeded beyond measure, and his name became known throughout the country. After a short while, he was the one granting opportunities, the one deciding who succeeded and who didn't.

The strange thing is that those who initially chose him then started looking for a way to replace him, but they couldn't. The issue had become bigger than them; it required a political and diplomatic decision, and perhaps even a reconciliation meeting. Because, quite simply, the man had become a phenomenon, not just an employee. He had begun representing foreign interests in relation to the country's interests, as if the roles had been reversed without anyone noticing.

For every year he was late to school, and even more, he carried board positions like lightweight suitcases. If any board offered him shares and personal gain, he'd grab it as a bonus. His luck wasn't just working; it was working overtime. Every time people said, "This time he's definitely done it," he'd land a new position, as if accumulating points, ultimately leading to a bigger board and a new career path.

But the people who worked with him are a different story. His work environment was a complete "experience": stress, pressure, marginalization, exhaustion, frayed nerves, and the discovery of new illnesses. Some left with valuable experience, others with medical reports. And the best part? Some of them didn't have health insurance and are still trying to get it! So if you get sick, God help you... the experience is at your own expense.

Wherever he goes, in every position he holds, he leaves a trail of dust. A few donations, labeled as social responsibility, but the dust is more and more, and it gets in people's lungs; some couldn't stand it. Some coughed and then fell silent, some ended up in the hospital, and he? He carries on as if he saw nothing. For him, the position isn't the goal; it's a way of life.

And finally, you ask: How?  Forget the honorific answer in articles by writers seeking personal gain, because the answer is both simple and complex at the same time… Being late in school wasn't necessarily late in life. It was simply a matter of practicing patience.
