The Central Bank of Jordan has warned of financial fraud methods that rely on imitating voices using artificial intelligence.
He added that fraudulent calls have become smarter than ever!
He pointed out in a warning and awareness post about the use of artificial intelligence in making phone calls to citizens to obtain sensitive information about their financial and personal data.
This comes as part of the awareness campaign implemented and led by the Central Bank of Jordan, through the bank’s Financial Consumer Protection Department, to protect society from cyber hacking attacks that target citizens’ financial and personal data, taking advantage of the huge technological development to commit financial fraud crimes.
The awareness leaflet included a clear message that said:
Fraudulent calls have become smarter than ever!
Even if the voice sounds familiar, it could be faked using artificial intelligence techniques.
Do not share your financial and personal data with any contact, even if they are an acquaintance.
