The King follows up on the government's progress in implementing the public sector modernization plan – Photos

During a meeting he chaired on Monday, His Majesty King Abdullah II followed up on the government’s progress in implementing the roadmap for modernizing the public sector, in the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.

During his meeting at Al-Husseiniya Palace with Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan and a number of concerned officials, His Majesty stressed the importance of employing technology to develop public sector institutions and improve their performance to serve citizens and investors.

His Majesty was briefed on the most prominent achievements within the executive program for the first phase (2022-2025), including the expansion in the digitization of government services, and the opening of 13 comprehensive government service centers in several governorates.

His Majesty listened to a briefing on the government’s plan to launch the Jordanian Academy of Public Administration, which will serve as a reference body for developing the capabilities of the public sector instead of the Institute of Public Administration.

In this context, His Majesty called for the continued development of appointment mechanisms in the government apparatus, pointing to the importance of creating an attractive environment for competencies and talents, within a framework based on transparency, fairness and performance-related career development.

His Majesty listened to a briefing presented by the Minister of State for Public Sector Development, Engineer Badriya Al-Balbisi, in which she indicated that the executive program for the second phase (2026-2029) focuses on expanding the scope of implementation to include municipalities, and increasing reliance on modern technologies to enhance the efficiency of public sector performance, spending efficiency, and the quality of services provided to citizens.

The meeting was attended by the Director of His Majesty’s Office, Engineer Alaa Batayneh, and the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Engineer Sami Smirat.
