The media spokesperson for the Greater Amman Municipality, Dr. Nasser Al-Rahamneh, said that the demolition work for the reconstruction of the Applied Sciences roundabout was carried out in accordance with technical and engineering studies, and under engineering supervision, and that the demolition of the 39-meter-high column was completed, as planned, within the perimeter of the roundabout.
No material or human damage occurred, contrary to what is being circulated on some social media pages and websites, and the Amman Municipality staff are still continuing their work at the site.
