Al-Salt Municipality explores ways to enhance the inclusion of people with disabilities and facilitate their access to public facilities - Photos
The head of the Greater Salt Municipality Committee, Ali Batayneh, discussed with the head of the Salt Association for the Care and Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities, Dr. Muhammad Hayasat, and a number of members of the association and people with special needs ways to enhance joint cooperation to serve people with disabilities and develop facilities that ensure their ease of movement and integration into society.
During the meeting held at the municipality building, Al-Batayneh emphasized that providing walkways, elevators, and parking spaces designated for people with special needs is a national and humanitarian duty that the municipality places at the top of its priorities, in implementation of the high royal directives regarding the necessity of caring for this group and removing obstacles in their path.
He emphasized the municipality's commitment to establishing these standards in all its current and future facilities and projects.
For his part, Dr. Muhammad Hayasat appreciated the humanitarian efforts and initiatives led by the Greater Salt Municipality and presented a commemorative shield to Al-Batayneh in appreciation of his active role in supporting the issues of people with disabilities, praising the logistical services provided by the municipality, which contributed significantly to facilitating the access of visitors with disabilities to the various departments and sections with ease and convenience.
During the meeting, a wide range of issues of concern to people with special needs were discussed, with both sides focusing on the need to join forces to effectively involve them in society and provide all means to facilitate the details of their daily lives, while emphasizing the importance of continuously updating facilities and taking into account their building codes, in addition to strengthening oversight to ensure that citizens do not use parking spaces designated for their vehicles, in order to reach an inclusive urban environment that guarantees their rights and meets their needs with full efficiency and competence.
