US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Israel had not persuaded him to attack Iran, following news reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had influenced Trump's decision in this regard.
Trump wrote on Truth Social that Israel did not convince him to go to war with Iran, but rather the results of October 7th reinforced his conviction that Iran cannot possess a nuclear weapon.
He added that the results of a war with Iran would be as spectacular as the results in Venezuela, "which the media doesn't want to talk about."
He added that “if Iran’s new leaders are smart, Iran can have a great and prosperous future.”
