Security services in the Alexandria Security Directorate are conducting intensive investigations into the incident of a girl who took her own life early Sunday morning in the Smouha area, after she threw herself from the balcony of an apartment on the thirteenth floor during a “live broadcast” on her personal Facebook page.

As she wrote in a previous post before the broadcast: “Take care of my children,” before climbing the wall and disappearing from sight, in what appeared to be a self-inflicted fall, followed by a scream and a violent impact, and it became clear that she breathed her last breaths as a result of her fall, amid unsuccessful attempts by social media users to dissuade her from her decision through comments.
Eyewitnesses near the scene described the initial moments of the incident, noting that it coincided with dawn prayers, drawing a large number of worshippers from the mosque located below the building. They explained that they heard a loud thud in the early morning, initially attributing it to the moving of goods at a nearby electrical supplies store, only to be surprised by the presence of security personnel and ambulances at the site.

The body was transferred to the ambulance morgue under the supervision of the investigating authorities, and the necessary report was filed regarding the incident to take the necessary legal measures.
In contrast, Dr. Maya Morsi, the Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity, commented on the incident of a mother's death due to pressures she was subjected to, describing what happened as a final "cry of pain" before death, warning that the mother reaching this state as a result of injustice and obstinacy is a dangerous indicator.
Morsi said that this mother ended her life because of the possibility of a dispute over the apartment where she lived with her daughters, and stressed that the nursery apartment is not just walls, but rather dignity and stability for the mother, and that taking the housing away from her is taking away her desire to live, describing depriving the youngsters of their shelter as a “disgrace.”
She also pointed to another incident of a mother who died along with her children because the father refused to spend on them and left them in need, stressing that financial and emotional blackmail and the misuse of the law is a crime that must be severely punished.
She stressed that the child’s right to housing and maintenance cannot be compromised or used to settle scores.
Morsi criticized the delay in justice and described it as an injustice, demanding the protection of the rights of women and children.
In closing, she asked everyone to have mercy on the children and not to circulate the mother’s name, publish the video of the incident, or access her personal accounts in order to protect their privacy.
