2027 AFC Asian Cup: Jordan's "Al-Nashama" in Group B alongside North Korea, Bahrain, and Uzbekistan

The draw for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup placed the Jordanian national football team, “Al-Nashama”, in Group B alongside the national teams of North Korea, Bahrain, and Uzbekistan.

On Saturday, in the Al-Turaif district of Diriyah Governorate, the draw was held for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup finals, which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia in the cities of Riyadh, Jeddah and Al-Khobar, with the participation of 24 Asian teams.

The Jordanian national team, nicknamed “Al-Nashama,” participated in the Asian Cup finals five times before the 2027 edition, in “China 2004, Qatar 2011, Australia 2015, the UAE 2019, and Qatar 2023.”

The Jordanian national team achieved its best accomplishment in its history during the 2023 Asian Cup in Qatar, after reaching the final match for the first time, before finishing as runner-up after losing to the Qatari national team.

The Jordanian national team also reached the quarter-finals in 2004 and 2011, while they were eliminated from the round of 16 in the 2019 edition, and from the group stage in the 2015 edition.

Qualifying for the 2023 final is considered the most prominent milestone in the history of Jordanian football at the continental level, under the leadership of Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta, in a tournament that witnessed remarkable performances by the national team and historic victories over a number of prominent Asian teams.
