A workshop at Al-Ahliyya Amman University to enhance the quality of master's theses on methodological frameworks for academic excellence.

In its ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of academic output, the College of Allied Medical Sciences, in cooperation with the College of Graduate Studies at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, organized a specialized workshop entitled “Methodological Frameworks for Academic Excellence,” which targeted faculty members in the scientific/medical colleges at the university.

This event, presented by Dr. Ali Atoum, comes as a continuation of a series of ongoing workshops aimed at developing the capabilities of the academic staff, focusing primarily on how to improve research writing to meet the standards of publication in prestigious international journals.

The workshop content included a comprehensive review of the shift from traditional methods of writing literature reviews to advanced methods that rely on thematic linking and activating the researcher’s voice through a detailed explanation of the “Research Onion” model, which ensures the construction of a research methodology with philosophical depth and integrated engineering design, and the PEEL technique to ensure paragraph coherence and the strength of the research gap.

The workshop witnessed a remarkable attendance from faculty members, and at its conclusion, the floor was opened for discussion, inquiry, and exchange of experiences among the attendees, which enriched the scientific content and enhanced the workshop's objectives in developing critical research thinking among the participants.

The workshop recommended the need to train graduate students and activate these two models practically while teaching the subject of scientific research methodology, in order to ensure the building of a generation of researchers who are proficient in the tools of sound academic writing.
