Crown Prince emphasizes the importance of developing ecotourism and its role in empowering local communities – Photos

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II participated today, Wednesday, with activists specializing in environmental and domestic tourism, in a nature walk in the Yarmouk Forest Biosphere Reserve in Irbid Governorate.

His Highness stressed the importance of developing ecotourism and its role in empowering local communities, pointing to the role of activists in highlighting Jordanian natural and tourist sites, and the need for citizens to preserve them and their cleanliness.

His Highness the Crown Prince listened to the experiences of the participants in the fields of awareness and environmental conservation, exploration, adventure, and the preparation of heritage content.

During the visit, His Highness was briefed on some of the biodiversity in the reserve belonging to the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, which covers an area of ​​20 square kilometers and is home to more than 546 plant species.

The reserve includes hiking trails and eco-lodges within its mountainous terrain, and is an important passage for migratory birds, and is home to dozens of animal species.
