Crown Prince inspects the Aqaba International Motor Racing Track and City Park projects – Photos

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II inspected the progress of work on the International Racing Circuit and City Park projects in Aqaba on Sunday.
During two visits to the sites, His Highness the Crown Prince stressed the importance of completing the work on the two projects within the specified timeframes and according to the highest technical and engineering standards.
His Highness stressed the need to complete the work on the two projects during this summer, in order to enhance the status of the city of Aqaba as an integrated tourist and development destination.
During His Highness the Crown Prince’s visit to the motor racing track site, he pointed out the need to select the appropriate operator for the circuit in accordance with the best international practices followed, noting the economic importance of the project.
During a visit to the park project, His Highness stressed the importance of ensuring the provision of high-quality recreational and community spaces, and developing a sustainable operation and maintenance plan for the facilities.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince listened to a briefing from the CEO of the Aqaba Development Corporation, Hussein Safadi, regarding the completion rates and progress of work on the two projects, in addition to future plans for operation and management.
Al-Safadi explained that the project extends over an area of 1145 dunams and includes a main race track designed to be approved in the future for Formula 3 races and higher classifications, in addition to a training race track for (karting) sports, a paddock with an area of 90 dunams, and a building with an area of 1688 square meters to serve the track.
Speaking about the park, Safadi explained that the project will include 6 sports fields with green surfaces, several squares, an amphitheater that can accommodate 1700 people, pedestrian and bicycle paths, green spaces, and facilities.
His Highness was accompanied on both visits by the Director of the Crown Prince’s Office, Dr. Zaid Al-Baqain.
