The Minister of Youth and the Director of Public Security launch the “Youth and National Security” program to enhance the role of youth in protecting society.

Minister of Youth Dr. Raed Sami Al-Adwan and Director of Public Security Major General Dr. Obaid Allah Al-Maayta launched the “Youth and National Security” program today, Wednesday, at the Ministry of Youth building, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Dr. Mazen Abu Baqr, within the framework of the ongoing partnership between the Ministry of Youth and the Directorate of Public Security, which aims to empower youth and enhance their role in the process of building and development, and to consolidate the concepts of security and community peace.

The launch of the program comes in line with the lofty royal directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah, calling for empowering youth, enhancing their national and community participation, and providing a supportive environment to unleash their energies and invest their capabilities in serving the nation.

Minister of Youth Dr. Raed Sami Al-Adwan stressed the importance of proceeding with the implementation of programs and initiatives that translate the royal directives towards empowering youth and enhancing their role in community security and peace, protecting youth from the scourge of drugs, and enhancing their role in volunteer work, in a way that contributes to developing their capabilities, raising their level of community awareness, protecting them from negative behaviors, and enhancing their presence as active partners in the development and progress process.

Al-Adwan pointed out that the Ministry of Youth is continuing to expand its partnerships with various national institutions, in order to serve the youth and enhance their positive participation in national and community issues.

The Minister of Youth praised the role of the Public Security Directorate as a strategic partner in implementing youth programs and initiatives, given its expertise and competencies that contribute to supporting and empowering youth in various governorates of the Kingdom, stressing the importance of continuing joint work to achieve the program’s goals and enhance its impact on the ground.

For his part, the Director of Public Security, Major General Dr. Obaidullah Al-Maayta, affirmed that youth constitute a fundamental pillar in security and community programs, pointing to the importance of strengthening their role in supporting national efforts and consolidating the concept of community partnership, which will positively reflect on the security, stability and cohesion of society.

Major General Al-Maayta explained that the “Youth and National Security” program aims to protect and immunize young people against negative ideas and behaviors, and to enhance their role in consolidating social peace and supporting security and stability in the Kingdom, noting that the Public Security Directorate will harness its human and logistical capabilities to implement the program’s components in various governorates of the Kingdom.

The program comes within an integrated national framework that aims to empower youth through key paths that include awareness aspects of the scourge of drugs, cybercrimes, and community peace, in addition to traffic awareness, as well as implementing various awareness and educational activities and events that contribute to refining the skills of youth, developing their capabilities and enhancing their active participation, in order to consolidate their role in serving the community and supporting the national development process.
