United States: Two F-18 fighter jets crash after colliding during an air show

Two F/A-18 fighter jets crashed on Sunday after colliding during an air show in the US state of Idaho.

State officials announced that the incident occurred during an air show held at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho (northwest).

They indicated that the airbase was temporarily closed due to the incident, and an investigation was launched to determine the circumstances, without disclosing further details.

For their part, the organizers of the show explained that the two US Navy fighter jets collided during the air show.

The organizers confirmed that the four crew members on both planes were able to survive, as they used their ejection seats and left the planes safely.

Videos circulating on social media showed the moment one of the two planes collided with the other in the air, before four parachutes opened and the two planes plummeted to the ground.
