With Al-Taamari in the lineup, Rennes ended their season with a loss to Marseille but still qualified for the Europa League playoffs.

Rennes lost to Marseille in the 34th and final round of the French league on Sunday evening, in a match held at the Velodrome stadium, thus finishing the season in sixth place, qualifying for the Europa League qualifiers next season.

Rennes entered the match in fifth place with 59 points, compared to 56 points for Marseille, but the home team imposed their superiority during the match and controlled most of the game, benefiting from offensive pressure and ball possession.

The match saw the participation of Jordanian international star Musa Al-Taamari with Rennes, where he played in the front line and contributed to several attacking attempts, while the team tried to come back in the result during the second half without success.

Marseille put on a strong attacking performance led by a number of their prominent players, while Rennes relied on counter-attacks and quick movements through Taamari and Ludovic Blas.

Despite the loss, Rennes secured a European finish to the season, thus booking a place in the Europa League qualifying rounds for next season.
